Getting Started with MySQLDump

  1. Installation: Download the backupmanager executable. The installation process is supported on Windows Desktops & Servers and on Linux distributions.

    1. Backupmanager supports MySQLDump backup and recovery for MySQL for RPM and Debian-based Linux distributions and Desktops & Servers.

      1. RHEL based Linux distributions and flavors.

        yum install zmandapro-backupmanager-1.0.0-x86_64.rpm

      2. Debian-based Linux distributions and flavors

        dpkg -i zmandapro-backupmanager-1.0.0-x86_64.deb

      3. Windows Desktops and Servers - Installation using MSI

  2. Configuration: Once installed, begin by logging in and configuring the protected items (i.e., the MySQL databases backup and recovery). You can do this by using the configuration command which is an interactive tool that allows you to configure protected item for the required workload.

  3. Initiating Backups: The backups can be initiated from the Zmanda Pro UI or you can schedule automated backups using scheduling options.

  4. Monitoring: Stay updated with the real-time progress of your backups. Apart from the server job log report backupmanager's progress reporter provides detailed status updates on the client’s terminal for client triggered operations, to ensure the operation is running smoothly.
