Performing a Backup

Ensure Zmanda Pro is installed on the client machine and the protected item is properly configured, as described in the previous section.

There are two ways to initiate a backup:

1. Client-triggered backup

2. Server-triggered backup

1. Client-triggered Backup

1. To take a backup, right click on the protected item and click on “Backup”.

1. Under the “Backup” option you can select either the “Storage provided by Zmanda” option or chose a custom one by clicking on the plus icon on the right.

1. Click on “Backup”.

2. After the backup is complete, the log should be visible in protected item’s “Job logs”.
