Self-Hosted Offline Server Setup

Step 1: Download and unzip the setup package

unzip zmandasetup-offline.zip

You must see the setup package unpacking with the following items

Step 2: Run the setup.sh installer

cd zmandasetup-offline
sudo ./setup.sh

You will be prompted to choose an available network interface. This will map the Zmanda Pro Server to listen on the IPv4 address of the selected Network interface.

Here we choose option 1 as we want to use my ens192 NIC. This will bind the Zmanda Pro Server to listen on the IP: 192.168.80.223 and will be accessible on the FQDN: backup.zmanda.com

Step 3: Get the License Activator

Reach out to the Zmanda Sales Team with the Container ID shown on your terminal screen. The License activator will be generated for one Container ID.

An unlock password for the activator will be sent. This will be required to run your License Activator

The activator and the unlock password will be sent to you over a Secure Channel

Ensure that the correct container ID is shared with the Zmanda Sales Team. Store the unlock key securely

The following container ID as depicted 8ff272929e07 must be shared with Zmanda Team.

Step 4: Activate your Zmanda Pro server

Download the activator on your Zmanda Pro Server host and run the license activator

Ensure you enter the right unlock password which is shared to you by the Zmanda Sales team along with the License Activator.

You have now successfully setup you Zmanda Pro Server instance, you may head over to the dashboard on your browser to administer backup and restore operations.

  • Your first login credentials will be

    • Username: admin

    • Password: the unlock key sent with the License Activator

  • You are required to change the admin password on your first login

NOTE: If you are using the self-signed certificates packaged in the Zmanda Pro Setup, on your browser, you will see that the connection will show Not Secure. To overcome this, you will have to install the self-signed CA certificate on your client devices as well as the device from which you access the browser.
