Ensure Zmanda Pro is installed on the client machine and the protected item is properly configured, as described in the previous section.
There are two ways to initiate a backup:
Client-triggered backup
Server-triggered backup
1.1 Initiate the Backup
Once the protected item is configured, click on “Backup” to backup the configured protected item.
1.2 Monitor Backup Progress
Once the backup is initiated, you can monitor its progress directly in the job logs. Watch for any warnings or errors during the backup process.
2.1 Navigate to Server Web UI
Navigate to the Web UI with appropriate URL and enter the tenant-admin credentials to login to the server.
2.2 Navigate to Protected Item
Click on the "Devices" tab to access the Devices page, then choose the user linked to the device. Next, click on "Protected Items" to go to the Protected Items page, and then click "Backup" to back up the corresponding protected item.
2.3 Monitor Backup Progress
Navigate to the “Job Logs” to view the job logs of the operations. Watch for any warnings or errors during the backup process.
