How Can MSPs Onboard Their Users

Managed Service Providers (MSPs) can onboard their users to assist in onboarding customers and managing backups. There are four types of users partners can onboard, and they are:-
  • Partner Owner - Partner Owners have complete control over Zmanda Endpoint Backup. They will have all privileges and can manage users, billing, subscription, SSO, and backups.
  • Partner Administrator - Partner Administrators can manage backups, users, and other configurations on Zmanda Sentinel. However, they cannot make any billing or subscription-related changes.
  • Partner Finance Administrator - Partner Finance Administrators can perform all billing-related operations. They can make payments and add new payment methods on Zmanda Sentinel.
  • Partner End-users - Partner End-users can view their first-level backups, restore required files, and view downloads and linked devices.
This guide will walk you through the process of adding partner users.
Note: To add partner users, you must switch to the Control account in the left navigation panel.
Step 1: Once you switch to the control account, click the Users option.
Step 2: Click the Add user button.
Step 3: Add the information of the new user. This includes their first name, last name, and email address.
Step 4: Click Next to proceed.
Step 5: Assign the product license to the newly added user and click Next to proceed.
Step 6: In the next frame, assign the role to the user. If the user role is Partner Owner, Partner Administrator, or Partner Finance Administrator, you can assign the onboarded partner customer to this partner user.
For example, if a newly created user is assigned the Partner Administrator role and is assigned to a customer, they will be responsible for the administrative tasks for that customer.
If you have not onboarded any customers yet, you can assign a user role in this step and click Next to continue. The user can be assigned to a customer later when you onboard customer.
Step 7: Click Next to assign groups to the user. You can skip this step if user groups are not created.
However, If you want to create user groups and assign users to them, please refer to our detailed guide for help.
Step 8: Select the user group for the user and click Next.
Step 9: You can view all the details about the newly added user. Click Close to close the frame.
You can add as many users as you want using the above process.
