Step 4: Adding a New Protected Item

You can configure Protected Items either on the client or on the Zmanda Pro server, provided that the endpoint is online (i.e., the client is logged in with a user profile on your Zmanda Pro server).

To create a Protected Item using the Zmanda Pro console, you can log in either as a regular user or as an administrator. The following steps are presented from the admin perspective:

  1. Navigate to the Users page on Zmanda Pro console.

  2. Click on the user associated with your device.

  3. Choose Protected Items, then select Add Protected Item.

  4. Select the Protected Item type and fill in any necessary details (file paths, DB connection credentials, etc.).

  5. Optionally, specify pre or post-scripts to run, schedules, and/or retention policies.

  6. Click Save.
