Databases and Applications

Here we will cover how to backup your Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, My SQL, and MS SQL databases, as well as MS Exchange and Sharepoint.

Zmanda Application Modules (licensed separately from servers and standard clients) enable you to schedule intelligent backups of selected databases and email applications. Intelligent backup ensures that data from these applications is captured consistently while minimizing or eliminating application downtime during backup.

Zmanda performs application backup by integrating with each application's native backup tools, such as Oracle's RMAN or Windows Exchange Writer. This method not only provides the best application availability during backup but also results in a portable backup that does not necessarily require Zmanda for restores.
