New Features and Enhancements:

  • LDAP configuration with custom attributes: This release introduces the ability to configure LDAP authentication using custom attributes. This provides greater flexibility and customization options for integrating with your existing directory services.

  • Improved holding disk data management: We've fixed an issue that prevented holding disk data from being flushed after an interrupted backup to AWS S3. This fix ensures efficient use of storage space and avoids potential issues with subsequent backups.

  • Enhanced cluster creation: A bug that prevented successful cluster creation from ZMC 5.0 has been resolved. Users can now create clusters seamlessly.

  • General enhancements and fixes: This release incorporates general enhancements and fixes to improve the overall stability and functionality of Zmanda.

Known Issues:

Disaster recovery (DR):

  • Issue: Incremental backup fails after a DR restore for Windows sources.

  • Workaround: The workaround for this issue can be found here.

Linux client upgrade to 5.1.1:

  • Issue: The first backup after upgrading a Linux client might behave like a full backup, even if it's an incremental backup.

  • Workaround: Ensure that the first backup taken post-client upgrade to 5.1.1 is a full backup. Incremental backups after the full backup will run successfully.

Windows client-server migration to 5.1.1:

  • Issue: An incremental backup from the source with a Windows client will fail in 5.1.1.

  • Workaround: Ensure that the first backup taken post-server upgrade to 5.1.1 is a full backup. Incremental backups after the full backup will run successfully.
